Default A Potentially Idiotic Observation

Yeah. This may be incredibly obvious, but I'd just like someone to confirm for me, the longer you go adventuring in an explorable area (ie: the more you kill), with heros and henchmen, the better (and more frequent) the drops start becoming?

Thats just the law of averages catching up to you.

Every monster is a chance for a rare drop. Kill more monsters, more chances. simple.

No, sorry. How long you spend in an explorable area on any given trip has no effect on what drops you get. When you enter an instace, all of the drops from monters and chest is established at that time. You may find a higher concentration of good drops in one part of the map, it may just happen to be the last part of the map you visit.

I've seen all kinds of drop scenarios (speaking of high-end game content here):

1. Good drops scattered here and there around the map
2. Several good drops where I start and nothing anywhere else
3. Several good drops at the end of my explorations
4. Sometimes they're grouped somewhere in between the beginning and end.
4. No good drops at all.

The very first mobs you kill don't drop anything in order to prevent quick farming runs but after that - random is random.

Yay, more conspiracy theories.

It's the farming code. Blame the farming code.

Of course, nobody knows what exactly the farming code is, yet people try to come up with needlessly complex theories based on zero evidence to explain it.

If you dont belive, farm like there is no tomorrow somewhere, like outside ruins of surmia, wait until you recive that message, then go to FoW and you will see what happens to your groups drops

Unless that's only first 1 creature you kill, then this is not true.

When farming, all drops, including the first group, will drop acording to the area drop rate. I remember getting sup vigor from ettins from the first ettin (or creature) killed in that zone.

There's also areas that I clear entirely of every single creature, and the drops remain unchanged.

The only place where drops are affected by progress is the quest reward chests in Domain of Anguish.

actually, in case of chests, the more they are opened, the more common the drops become.(check guildwiki.org for more info)

and for the monsters, it is simply a randomization process. It might have been that when you were in the area, the probability of the rare drop was randomized at a higher rate.

Could you point this out for us? I see nothing under "chest":

No sorry, a individuals action does not alter the game for someone else when it comes to drops.

I have found that when I'm exploring, going from map to map with out ever entering a city, the number of drops does increase.

The quality of those drops is totaly random.

This may be just random luck, but ive noticed that when exploring multiple large maps with out entering a city that by the third map most every monster will drop somehting for me when im with hench/hero's. The majority of these drops do tend to be coin drops.

I'm just saying that when I go to the Realm of Torment with henchies, I wont get squat with the first few groups, then start getting great drops after about ten minutes. Dunno. Just something useful to keep in mind, i reckon, if it was ever proved.

I've had situations where the overall drops were crap, but also situations where we got nice drops from the start. E.g. The tombs, there were times we got 3 ecto's on the first map alone, but also times we got 0 overall.

No, you're drops don't get better for any other reason than chance. However, they can get worse for a short period of time if you farm the same area over and over again and trip the farm code.

and no, the farm code is not a myth or theory, it's a built in feature of GW

Antifarm, or antibot code?

I dont think anet wants to prevent farming as long as you are not abusing certain game mechanics
